Supporting you through pregnancy and childbirth journey

Hi, I’m Sarah, the heart and soul behind RAS Doula Service.
My journey to becoming a doula is deeply personal. My husband and I are parents to five beautiful children, and each pregnancy and birth taught me something different about the strength, vulnerability, and power of motherhood. But our story also holds deep loss. In January 2024, we lost our daughter Riley. Her life, though far too short, changed me forever and became a big part of why I chose this path. I want her life to continue to mean something. Supporting other women as they bring life into the world is one of the ways I honor her.
Through my own pregnancies and births, I experienced first hand how important it is for a mother to feel supported, heard, and empowered during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I was incredibly grateful to have my husband by my side each time, but I often think about how different those experiences could have been if I’d also had a trained support person whose sole focus was helping me through every moment of labor.
That realization is what led me to become a doula.
I am trained through DONA International and am currently working toward full certification. Along side my training, I bring the lived experience of carrying, birthing, and caring for five children. I understand the physical intensity of labor, the emotional rollercoaster of pregnancy, and the strength it takes to bring a baby into the world.
My goal as a doula is simple: to walk alongside mothers with compassion, knowledge, and encouragement. I want women to feel confident, informed, and empowered in their birth experience. Whether it’s your first baby or your fifth, you deserve to feel supported, respected, and strong during one of the most important moments of your life.
Being invited into such a sacred moment is something I never take lightly. It’s truly an honor to support mothers and families as they welcome their babies into the world.

The support of a doula begins long before labor starts. During pregnancy, my role is to walk alongside you as you prepare for one of the most important experiences of your life. Prenatal support is all about helping you feel informed, confident, and empowered as you approach your birth.
During our prenatal time together, I help you understand what to expect throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. We talk through the stages of labor, common procedures, and the many options available to you so that you can make decisions that feel right for your body and your family.
I also work with you to create a birth plan that reflects your hopes and priorities for your birth experience. While birth can be unpredictable, having a plan helps you understand your choices and communicate them clearly with your care team.
Pregnancy can bring excitement, questions, and sometimes uncertainty. A big part of prenatal doula care is emotional support. I am here as someone you can talk to openly, ask questions, and lean on as you prepare for your baby’s arrival.
If you have a partner, I also help them feel confident in their role. We practice comfort measures such as breathing techniques, positioning, massage, and counter pressure so they know exactly how to support you during labor.
Throughout your pregnancy, I remain available for questions, guidance, and encouragement. My goal is to help you feel prepared, supported, and empowered so that when labor begins, you can focus on the incredible work your body was designed to do.
When labor begins, my role is to provide continuous, steady support for you and your partner throughout the entire birth experience. Birth can be intense, powerful, and sometimes unpredictable, and having a calm, knowledgeable presence by your side can make a meaningful difference.
During labor, I provide physical comfort measures such as position changes, breathing guidance, massage, and counter pressure to help you work through contractions and stay as comfortable as possible. I also help create a calm and supportive environment so you can stay focused on the work your body is doing.
I offer continuous emotional encouragement throughout labor, reminding you of your strength and helping you stay grounded during the more challenging moments. Sometimes that support looks like gentle reassurance, sometimes it means helping you refocus your breathing, and sometimes it simply means being a quiet, steady presence beside you.
Your partner is an important part of the birth experience as well, and I help guide and support them so they can confidently support you. Together we work as a team to ensure you feel cared for, encouraged, and never alone during labor.
While I do not provide medical care or replace your doctor or midwife, I work alongside your medical team to help you understand what is happening and support you in communicating your preferences.
My goal during labor and birth is simple: to help you feel supported, respected, and empowered as you bring your baby into the world.
Support does not end once your baby is born. The postpartum period is a time of physical recovery, emotional adjustment, and learning your new rhythm as a family. During this time, my role is to continue offering guidance, encouragement, and reassurance as you transition into life with your newborn.
In the early days after birth, many parents have questions about feeding, newborn behavior, healing, and what is considered normal. I provide evidence based information and practical support to help you feel more confident as you care for your baby and recover from birth.
Postpartum support also means creating space for you to talk about your birth experience and process the emotions that can come with it. Birth is powerful, and having someone to listen and support you during this transition can make a meaningful difference.
I can also assist with things like newborn soothing techniques, feeding support, and helping you find a comfortable rhythm as you settle into your new role as a parent. If additional support is needed, I can help connect you with trusted resources such as lactation consultants or other local professionals in your area.
The early postpartum period can be beautiful, exhausting, emotional, and transformative all at once. My goal is to ensure you feel supported, cared for, and never alone as you adjust, heal, and begin this new chapter with your baby.
Birth can be unpredictable, and while I make every effort to be present for each client’s labor and delivery, there may be rare situations where unforeseen circumstances prevent me from attending the birth. These situations could include an extremely fast labor, an early delivery, illness, or being present at another birth.
If I am unable to attend your birth due to circumstances on my end, you will receive a full refund of the total cost of doula services. My goal is always to provide the support you hired me for, and if I am unable to do so, I believe you should not be financially responsible for that portion of care.
If I miss the birth due to a lack of communication about labor beginning or significant changes in your situation, 50% of the total payment will be retained, as prenatal preparation and time spent preparing for your birth will have already taken place.
To help prevent these situations and ensure you always have support, we will discuss ahead of time whether you would like me to arrange a backup doula for your birth. This option is available at no additional cost to you and can provide extra peace of mind knowing that someone familiar with doula support will be available if needed.
My goal is always to ensure that you feel supported and cared for, even in the unexpected moments that birth can sometimes bring.
My current doula service fee is $1,000 flat rate. (Doula service without photographs)
Payment is typically structured as:
• 50% due when we sign the contract and client intake forms (first meet once you decide to hire me.)
• 50% due before 37 weeks of pregnancy
At this time, I am not yet accepting insurance, but I hope to offer that option in the future as my practice continues to grow.
If you feel called to have a doula present for your birth but are concerned about finances, please still reach out. I believe DEEPLY in the importance of birth support and will meet you where you are financially! Do NOT let finances be the reason you feel you are lacking any sort of support.
For families who would like to preserve special moments from their baby’s birth, I offer an optional “Doul Tog” service. This is a combination of doula support and simple birth photography that captures meaningful moments throughout the labor and delivery process.
These photos are taken during calm or quieter moments, when my primary role as your doula can briefly pause. My first priority will always be your care, comfort, and support during labor, but when appropriate, I will capture natural and intimate moments as your birth story unfolds.
IF FOR ANY REASON I AM UNABLE TO CAPTURE PHOTOGRAPHS FOR YOU. YOUR DOUL TOG FEE WILL BE REFUNDED IN FULL.

I love meeting new potential clients! Whether it be phone call grabbing a cup of coffee.
